Thought I should introduce myself, since I just joined on here. =) My name is Marie, I'm a 19 year old college student majoring in music (thinking of taking on an equine science minor, though). I've been riding for about 7 years now. I was an active member of Pony Club up until this past year, when I had to let it go because of college. I ride English, and my favorite discipline is Dressage, although I do enjoy jumping/cross country from time to time.I currently lease a 29 year old thoroughbred mare named Dolly. She is just about the sweetest thing. We've been together for 6 years, and she was the first horse I rode that was more than just one of the schoolies at the small farm I ride at. She has quite an attitude and doesn't act at all like she's nearly 30. She's in great health, just a bit on the skinny side, but we don't do jumping anymore (which is okay, since I prefer dressage and she is more of a dressage girl). So yes, I guess that's it. I will hopefully post horse related icons on here from time to time. =) I can also take requests for icons/graphics, if you have any! -Marie

I really would like to learn how to barrel race one daywhen I get a little more experience. :D
Hey guys! i love horses so much, but unfortunately i don't have the time or money to own one of my own. one day as i was randomly searching the word "horses" on google, this link popped up for a site called Howrse, com its a game where you can own and take care of your own virtual horses. you start with one horse and 2000 dollars. you take care of you horse and after it grows up you can breed it to other horses. just like in real life! you can take you horse on rides, or enter it in competitions. You can open you own Equestrian Center, or start a Breeding Farm! you also have to take Riding Level Tests to get a job. Riding Level Tests, test you knowledge of horses, and get harder each time you take one. there are also auctions, and private sales where you can buy and sell horses for game money. There are forums where you can ask questions and meet really nice players. You can even personalize you page however you want to! and the best part is that it's free! all the best parts of owning a horse, without leaving the comforts of you home, and it's no money at all! It may sound childish, but i've been playing for 215 days, and i'm totally hooked! You should at least check it out! if you join, e-mail me, or post a comment here with you new user name, and i'll send you a message on there! Hope the people who can't afford this check it out! it's really great! Oh, and if they ask if you had a sponsor, please say it was me! my user name is the same on there, mickeymouse999. thanks! -mickeymouse999
The employees of Horse On Course wishes everyone a wonderful Holiday Season.
I've been making these for a while, not trying to rush on them. I made them in alot of different ways, trying different styles and what not. But I had to give some credit to this movie. It's one of those that you have history with and no every line and every scene of. I grew up watching this in awe. Because it's a true story and the girl who came from that small town, is the same town I grew up in and love still now. It doesn't matter how old I'll ever get, when I see a horse I turn back into that nine year old girl whose fascination with horses was the only matter in the world. That's why I love this movie, it brings back wonderful memories...even now.+Comment+Credit+No Hotlinking+ENJOY!+If you would like to affiliate with me, grab a button, comment, and I'll sincerely add you back.+I do take request, so just leave me a comment and we'll go from there.+91 Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken IconsPREVIEW The rest are at my graphics journal H E R E
I was just wondering how you guys displayed your horse ribbons around your room? I have so many around mine and i just don't know how to display them correctly or in any kind of cool way. help?
hey guys!long time, no post. i know! i really really need your help.my 22yo tb (lochie) has a bump on his forehead between his eyes. this bump is rock hard. so it's definately bone, but i dont see how part of a skull could stick out like that? pressing on it (quite firmly) doesn't bother him one bit. he possibly could have been kicked by my mare, but i really dont think that's it as she's not a kicker. perhaps he knocked it hard on a post or something? did it come up like that because he's old? it's really mysterious to me. he's had it about 2 weeks and it hasn't changed in shape or size.any advice?huge thanks in advance. hope you guys and your horses are well!!!!x posted

My horsies adventures by Emma Davidson from this saturday( Ye to the horsies!!!! :DCollapse )
I've definitely done this before, but I finally got my own horse, so I'll do it again :) It's been a while.YOU:name: Mandaage: 17How long you've been riding: Twoish yearsOther interests: Photography, going out with friends, etc.Your Horse:Name: Wellesley (I just call him Wes)Age, breed, color, gender: 4, Thoroughbred, bay, geldingDiscipline:English, we'll probably do 3 day eventing.Interesting Facts: Honestly, he's your run of the mill thoroughbred, but I am training him myself from the ground up.Pictures (if you would like, but PLEASE behind a cut!!):I have a link to my journal with pictures of him.Fake cut!
rode fudges tonight! there must have been an invisible monster on the ground - just a tiny one. jumped out of nowhere after passing a certain place in the paddock for the 1908348904358 time. rode for half an hour. she was really well behaved.i love horses and i love riding! i ride because i love it and because fudge needs exercise! although, lately i've been finding i'm getting quite bored. i dont do a lot of schooling (in fact hardly any). i've been riding almost 7 years and havn't had a lesson in over 2. my friend and i have made a 'pact' to get back into schooling our horses! i do have a question, what can i do to make riding more exciting? currently i only ride 15-20 minutes (except today) because i get bored with doing the same old thing. we do heaps of transitions, circles, serpentines and figure of eights (at three paces). i dont know what else to do to keep riding exciting? i want to ride for an hour! i just get bored with doing the same old thing, which i'm sure fudgey does aswell. anyone got other ideas for what we can do? not really talking schooling here, just fun riding! we do trail rides and the odd show here and there, which keeps things awesome, but i need some different paddock kind of exercises!! and i'm sure there are heaps!! any suggestions would be awesome - thanks guys :)
ha ha so i got it to upload FINALLY!! Do not worry, more to come...This is a musical montage of me and Neo!X posted like none other
i am taking my baby, Dreyfus, out for his first hunter pace this sunday. he's been taken out on a trail before, but not with me. i let one of my adult rider friends take him out and they said that he was awesome, just trotting along and caused no problem. she didnt say anything about crossing creeks or anything, which i know we are going to have to cross on the pace. what is the best way to urge him to move along in the creek in case he refuses? and what kind of equipment should i put on him for the whole thing? i was thinking polo wraps on his front feet, but i dont know what do you guys think? x-posted.
so, the vet called me back this morning.from what i described she said the lumps sound like an allergic reaction to something growing in the paddock? or around the paddock? as fudge had them last year, she said this kind of thing will appear every year, probably worse and worse each time. she said to monitor it, but if i get too worried, to call her and she'll come pump fudge with steroids! which i'd rather not do, as they have side effects (lowers the immune system, laminitis). yeah, so will just monitor them. i think she'll be fine. in other news!abby had her baby! that is my friend (sarah) horse. trakehner x. she gave birth to a dun filly, with a star and a stripe and two white socks. how exciting! she said she got to witness the whole birth because of the foal alarm. i cant wait to see abbys foal!i rode fudge and casla last night and this morning. they were both so well behaved last night. i got an awesome trot out of (sb) casla. she likes to try to canter and make her circles tiny.. but i actually worked with her and got something awesome out of her. fudge was good as per usual. this morning it was windy so both nags were a bit on edge. at walk casla leapt to the side, i lost my stirrup, ha ha. fudge had her spooky ears up a lot of the time, so i started singing 'saddle club' to her and her shitty ears came about, ha ha. but that kept her calm.x - posted
i'm worried about fudge.she's got about 10 tiny bumps over her body. i've had her for 2 and a half years, so come to realise she gets them in the summer. my instructor thought they were something to do with what she'd eaten, but i think it has something to do with the heat. one week ago today, i noticed a raised lump on her off side on the side of her belly. it was about the size of the palm of my hand! again, i put it down to the heat or something she'd eaten. that raised lump is now a tiny bump. yesterday, another raised lump (the size of my palm) came up on her near side, again on her belly.i suddenly thought today, perhaps it's worms??i wormed both her and casla immediately (got a free haybag with the wormers!). i havn't been able to check out any poo yet. also i took fudges temerature and it's 37.9 - so that's normal. i dont know whether or not to call the vet. her mood is pretty much the same, she has been tossing her head about lately whilst riding, but i dont think that is related. she hasn't been moody. pushing on the lumps i get no reaction. if it weren't for the lumps, she appears to be a healthy pony. i dont want to call the vet and have a false alarm. but what if it's something bad? what if it is worms? what if it's fatal? i guess it's better to be safe than sorry right? i dont know what to do.x posted
i'm taking my pony fudge to a show on sunday! we'll be giving in hand a go. every show we've done has been ridden and i feel like i'm letting fudge down with my riding. i thought i'd try something different anyway and see how we go!
